A hike around a medieval town that still has its entire city wall standing. Also with several castle ruins in the area.
Part of the original city wall.
The ruins of the Hainburg castle on top of the hill behind the town.
Following the path along the Donau (Danube).
The ruins of the Röthelstein castle.
A beautiful inhabitant of the ruins.
Then up the Braunsberg.
With the remains of a Celtic watchtower.
And a view down on the town of Hainburg...
...the Hainburg castle ruins...
...and in the distance, on the other side of the Danube in Slovakia, the ruins of the Devin castle.
Then down on the other side, with a view back towards the Braunsberg.
More of the city wall of Hainburg.
And then up to the Hainburg castle on the other hill.
With a view towards Bratislava in Slovakia on one side...
...and down to Hainburg on the other side.
Back down again to the town.
The "Vienna gate" (pardon the ugly traffic light and signs).
The pretty church in Hainburg.
A final view across the Danube and up to the Braunsberg.
