A little hike up from Litochoro to the Chapel of Prophet Elias on top of a hill looking out over the town.
I arrived in Litochoro the day before, when it was raining all day. Here's the view from the balcony of my hotel room on that day.
But the next day was mostly sunny again, so I set out for an easy exploratory hike.
A cemetary at the edge of town.
Then the entrance to Enipeus gorge (hope to hike up into it tomorrow!).
Instead, I took a little side trail, with nice views.
Looking back over the town.
Then all the way to the top of the hill, with the Chapel of Prophet Elias.
And even better views...
A Greek orthodox church, in the middle of the forest on the way back down.
And a look back up to the chapel.
Then entering the town on the upper side.
And ending at the beautiful church at the main square.
That evening I was treated with a nice sunset, viewed from the balcony of my hotel room.
Two panoramas to end with.
The hike and elevation profile.
